| The Kempe Center was founded in 1972. It has a history of national and international leadership in child abuse awareness, education and the development of innovative programs. In addition to programs providing prevention, evaluation and treatment services to children and their families where maltreatment might have occurred, the center maintains strong training and research programs.
The mission of the Kempe Children's Center is "to end the cycle of child abuse and neglect by disseminating discoveries resulting from multidisciplinary research".

| The TeleHealth/TeleEducation program of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center [UCHSC] is committed to improving rural healthcare and education using state-of-art technologies. It coordinates the use of telecommunications technologies for the delivery of quality health care and health professions education.
The program helps health providers, students, and consumers access instructional experiences, medical consultations, and research opportunities throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Its goals are to:
- Provide accesss to high quality TeleHealth care for patients who are geographically and socioeconomically isolated
- Enhance the quality, continuity and affordability of health care
- Enhance the collaboration with regional partners by providing a range of customized clinical and educational services
- Enhance health professions education and support offerings for rural care providers
- Leverage the existing statewide network for delivering health science information and education programs
- Enhance the educational, patient care and health services research components of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center
- Coordinate the provisioning of voice, data, and video services in support of TeleHealth and TeleEducation missions
- Provide administrative support in the coordination of TeleHealth and TeleEducation contract development and fulfillment
- Enhance the educational, patient care, and health services research components of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center
