This meeting is co-sponsored by the World Psychiatric Association [WPA] and is co-organized by the European Violence in Psychiatry Research Group [EViPRG].

The congress will focus strongly on clinically relevant and practically useful interventions aiming at treating and reducing violent behaviour of psychiatric and forensic patients. However this time the focus is also on severe problem behaviour in persons with intellectually disability.

Special facilities of the Schol of Education and Clinical Studies include the Harry Jersig Center, which provides clinical services in communication and learning disorders; the St. Martin Hall Campus Demonstration School, which operates a model elementary school program for early childhood through the eighth grade and a learning center for children with learning diabilities; and the Community Counseling Service, which provides counseling services for the community.

It links the skills and resources of over 17 partners and organisations from the NHS, academia, industry and organisations involving consumers in this geographic region.

The combination of their expertise and resources is brought together to generate, refine, iterate and make available this knowledge essential for the Health Service in general and the treatment of patients in particular
