About With nearly 14,000 members and 47 state affiliates representing more than 80,000 addiction counselors, the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors [NAADAC] is the largest network of alcoholism and drug abuse treatment professionals in the United States. NAADAC was founded in 1972 with a primary focus on alcohol and drug addiction counselors, but since has enlarged its purview to include tobacco and gambling addiction prevention and treatment counselors.

About NAMI (formerly the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) is an international, nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of onsumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-ompulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Founded in 1979, NAMI has more than 210,000 members who seek equitable services for people with severe mental illnesses, which are known to be physical brain disorders. Working on the national, state, and local levels with its 1,200 affiliates in all 50 US states, NAMI provides education about severe brain disorders, supports increased funding for research, and advocates for adequate health insurance, housing, rehabilitation, and jobs for people with serious psychiatric illnesses.

About Narrative On Tour is a series of workshops at different locations across North America presented by Vicki Dickerson, Bill Lax, Stephen Madigan and Jeff Zimmerman.

The Narrative On Tour presenters are committed to providing an experience that is heartfelt, personal, and empowering for all participants. Their desire is to bring the revolutionary and exciting ideas of narrative therapy to working groups throughout North America and to provide contexts for discussion and community building in participants' own home towns. In this way interested persons will not have to travel to distant conference venues, but will be able to participate in training within their local communities, experiencing ideas and practices that can inspire and further support their clinical work. The presenters are committed to creating workshops to meet the participants' specific needs. They will show video-tapes, create exercises, and invite participants to join in ongoing discussions, "guaranteed" to privilege local knowledge and further preferred ways of being and preferred practices.
