Nordic Collaboration Group For Research in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry [NordCAP]

About The Nordic Collaboration Group For Research in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry [NordCAP] was started in 1986 to stimulate child psychiatric research in the Nordic countries. Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland have two participants in the group appointed by each country’s child psychiatric association.

The countries are small, but very suitable for epidemiological research and multicenter-studies, due to stability, similarities in culture, social conditions, and in health care systems. Because of these similarities and their health care systems, the Nordic countries could perform high quality studies in the field of rare psychiatric conditions.

Objectives:

  • Enhance Nordic research in child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Stimulate common use of Nordic research competence
  • Develop Nordic research collaboration
