Because the testbed functions as the main delivery vehicle for the project, its reliability, availability and security can not be minimized. The Telecommunication Services Department of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been instrumental in the design, implementation and on-going operations of the current testbed infrastructure and will continue to provide this support under the new National Library of Medicine contract.
