NATAS through NATASSRZ

NAATP represents some 275 non-profit and for-profit free standing and hospital based programs and acts as the voice of private alcoholism and drug dependency treatment programs throughout the USA.

ANAD encourages the inclusion of articles about eating disorders in various publications and participates in television and radio programs. All ANAD services are free, and referrals are available on request. ANAD has also encouraged research on anorexia and bulimia and has participated in research projects.

The purpose of NACM is to provide case managers and other service coordination practitioners with an opportunity for professional growth and for the promotion of case management.

NACM accomplishes its goals through educational meetings and conferences, news and communications, and policy development that continues the definition and refinement of the case management process. On its website, NACM offers not only Personal Practice Guidelines, but also specific Case Management Practice Guidelines for Adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.

NACM is particularly relevant to direct service case managers working with adults and children in the mental health, development disabilities, and substance abuse fields as well as case managers working in welfare reform or those working with people with physical or disabilities or with the elderly.

The official publication of NACCW is Child & Youth Care.

Objectives:

• Promote cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies as being therapeutically effective, cost-effective, and time-limited treatment methods
• Provide standards for national credentailling to insure that practitioners identifying themselves as cognitive-behavioral therapists provide quality treatment
• Support cognitive-behavioral therapists by being a source of continuing education and by supporting and promoting organizations that provide training in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy
• Provide a uniform lobbying effort for practice issues, such as third-party reimbursement and licensing on behalf of cognitive-behavioral therapists

NACBHD works to promote excellence in the delivery of county behavioral health services by:

• Providing policy links to state and federal governments
• Synthesizing information on county mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services to guide national policy development
• Creating alliances with key organizations
• Providing a national forum for leaders of county behavioral health systems to exchange ideas and information
• Participating in the formulation of policy positions on mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services adopted by the National Association of Counties
• Defining and promoting to the public interest in the delivery of services to consumers

Objectives:

• Advance the excellence and interests of social work education
• Encourage research for the advancement of social work education
• Represent the interests of the members to the Council on Social Work education
• Provide a forum for its members to discuss problems and opportunities for the advancement of social work education and research
• Engage in activities in the furtherance of social work education

The mission of NADD is to:

• Seek and stimulate public and professional interest
• Encourage the dissemination and exchange of pertinent information
• Promote educational and training programs
• Advocate for appropriate governmental policies
• Support research focused on identification, diagnosis and treatment
• Foster the development of resources and services

NADD operates a toll-free number offering information and referral services to professionals and families.

The official publication of NADD is the Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities.

NAMT offers a professional registration program for individuals who have met rigorous educational and clinical training requirements. More than 3,400 individuals are registered music therapists or RMTs. Since its inception in 1958, the registration program has granted registration to over 7,000 individuals.

• To maintain, improve, advance and promote psychiatric care for all Australians and ensure that there is freedom of choice of psychiatric care

• To increase the medical professions' awareness of the community's continuing and changing psychiatric care needs

• To represent both industrially and politically the professional concerns of Australian Psychiatrists and their patients
