• Promote greater understanding of ethnic minority groups among members of the counseling and development professions
• Improve standards and delivery of counseling and development services provided to ethnic minority groups
• Identify and work to eliminate conditions which create barriers to the individual development of ethnic minority groups
• Develop, implement and/or foster interest in charitable, scientific and educational programs designed to further the interests of ethnic minority groups
• Secure equality of treatment, advancement, qualifications and status of ethnic minorities in counseling and development work
• Publish a newsletter and other scientific, educational, and professional materials with the purpose of increasing the knowledge of all who work in counseling and development
• Facilitate a broader awareness of multicultural counseling among the helping professions

MSPP is an interdisciplinary society, based on the belief that psychoanalysis is enriched by including individuals from diverse backgrounds. Members include psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists as well as individuals from other disciplines. As a group, MSPP disavows any orthodoxy and welcomes all significant viewpoints in psychoanalysis.

MAGPS maintains the traditions of psychodynamic group psychotherapy and provides didactic and experiential training for psychotherapists interested in how group dynamics affect individuals, families, communities, and the world of business.

All mental health professions are welcome and well represented in our Society.

Most developing countries suffer from a severe shortage of health care professionals, especially in remote and rural areas. They need improved communications to link remote clinics and hospitals with urban hospitals and medical specialists outside the country. They need improvements in administration of their health care sector (e.g., in management of patient records). Health care professionals need access to up-to-date medical literature, both local and international. They need improvements in the provisioning of rural clinics and hospitals with pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies. They need to minimise the number of patients referred to distant hospitals who may already be overwhelmed. They need to raise the level of awareness about health care practices. They need rapid help in the event of a disaster or emergency, such as the break-out of Ebola disease in the Congo (ex-Zaire).

Telemedicine techniques can help. Telemedicine is the use of telecommunications to provide medical and health care at a distance. Telemedicine is usually taken to mean curative practices while telehealth includes preventative measures, but in this leaflet the term is intended to cover both aspects.

Activities include:

• Extended semi-private meetings between prominent scientists and leading figures from the contemplative traditions, most notably, the Dalai Lama of Tibet
• Public conferences to stimulate interest in the potential of these scientific dialogues within the larger scholarly community
• Intellectually rigorous yet accessible publications, based on Mind and Life meetings and conferences to share the power and potential of these collaborative exchanges with the general public
• Collaborative research projects and meetings focused on designing research, between laboratory scientists, scholars and practitioners of Buddhism and other forms of contemplative practice
• Educational programs based on our research findings that teach people proven, effective techniques to enhance human development and ameliorate suffering

MindFreedom has non-governmental organization [NGO] Consultative Roster Status with the United Nation's Economic and Social Council [ECOSOC].

Objectives:

• Develop a statewide network of family support groups and parent to parent connections
• Advocate for appropriate and timely delivery of mental health services
• Provide parents with children's mental health information through educational opportunities such as workshops and publications on children's mental health topics
• Remove social stigma and barriers associated wth children's mental health issues through public education
• MACMH will propose and develop programs that will lead to improvements in children's mental health
