The basic premise of a CSC is to leverage technology through partnerships with industrial affiliates and other government agencies to benefit both human space flight and the commercial sector.

MITAC is a consortium comprised of partners from government, academic institutions and industry that have a commercial interest in products and technology related to telemedicine, medical informatics and medical technology.

The Trust supports the use of these instruments with membership, education and training, and publications.

• MRI promotes electronic health records wherever possible and supports all processes involved in the creation of a technological, legal, professional, and standards environment
• MRI focuses on the emerging vision of electronic health records as part of a seamless, patient-centered information system. The substance of this vision includes integrated health care delivery encompassing both clinical and financial information
• part MRI envisions this electronic health record system within a national and global information infrastructure, and as part of the future of telemedicine
• MRI works to educate the public about the benefits and hurdles of electronic health records, to support the industry and developers in their efforts, to educate providers about their options in migrating toward electronic health record systems, and to provide information to other parties involved in the process
• communicates this message through our newsletter, publications, seminars, conferences, symposia and developers programs, as well as participating in applied research and standards work in select areas of interest.
