About The American Psychopathological Association [APPA], founded in 1910, is one of the oldest research organizations in North America. APPA is devoted to the scientific investigation of disordered human behavior, and its biological and psychosocial substrates. Its primary function is to sponsor an annual conference on a specific topic relevant to research in psychopathology.

The official journal of the APPA is Comprehensive Psychiatry.

About The American Psychosocial Oncology Society [APOS] was formed as a Chapter of the International Psycho-Oncology Society [IPOS] in 1986. In 2002,

APOS was incorporated as a national, multidisciplinary organization and approved as a nonprofit Society dedicated to promoting the psychological, social, behavioral, spiritual and physical well being of patients with cancer and allied diseases and their families at all stages of disease and survivorship, through clinical care, education, research and advocacy. The Society's membership represents fields such as psychiatry, social work, psychology, nursing and chaplaincy. It has boundaries with all clinical oncologic specialties, epidemiology and cancer control, basic sciences, bioethics, palliative care, rehabilitation, clinical trials and decision making.
